Great feedback

I loved the suggestions you all gave for the hoilday parties. You guys are pros! Now what you got for getting in Meat and nuts for breakfast and another dose of meat and nuts for lunch?

  1. So i jumped on the scale last night and noticed I lost 5lbs from not eating yesterday. So I hit it again for brunch. Kerry time to ruin it for you again, 2 hot dogs, 1 large fries, 1 gyros, 32oz coke. Yeah that one hurt a little. Not like a WOD but trust me it didn't feel good. Weighed myself at the box post WOD...minus another 1.4 lbs had Mandie order me a chipotle burrito with other stuff I usually can't eat beans and rice. Only 3 more days to hold on to 7lbs. I'm guessing this isn't the roller-coaster of weight most people are on...

  2. Meats and nuts are easy for lunch. It's still just getting the meat in the breakfast as I've tried to replace my typical eggs with flank steak, rotisserie chicken, and now pork sausage. For Tuesday's breakfast, I ate 2 2oz organic sausage patties, handful of almonds, and some celery+sunbutter and felt nauseous. Since I have been avoiding salt, the high sodium content of the sausage practically knocked me over.

I did proceed to kick ass in the pull-up, WB, and row WOD so I'll give it another try, but I won't like it one bit.

  3. Day 9 - Two holiday parties and I think I did ok. I think I could've done better if I'd had time to grab a real dinner before the parties. Thanks for all the tips!

8:30am (post wod) - 2 eggs and ~3oz grilled strip steak, coffee
    12:00n - banana, nuts
    3:00pm - orange
4:45pm - salad w/ cukes, tomatoes, ~3oz grilled strip steak, coffee
7:00pm (holiday party) - 4 meatballs, 2 pieces of summer sausage, 1 cube of cheese, 1 water cracker, glass of red wine

I'm not good at getting in nuts in the morning. I just don't have the taste for them that early in the day. My breakfast is usually pretty protein heavy and is typically eggs (scrambled or omelette style) with veggies (e.g., spinach, mushrooms) and meat (e.g., steak, salmon, chicken) mixed in.

  4. Here's one from Tom Windish: http://www.paleoplan.com/recipes/

    A. Craven, Do you like avacado/ You think you can stomach half or a quarter of a slice with your breakfast? Definitely need to get in a good fat if you don't like the nuts route. Sun butter on a piece of fruit?

If you haven't tried sun butter...it's pretty damn good.

  5. yeah Sunbutter, had some this morning! alternatively, i can suggest some of the fancy sausages that are the size/shape of a brat and you can get a pack for about $5 at nearly any store. these are typically chicken or pork sausages with various other flavors/ingredients mixed in (jalapeno, sundried tomato). it's a bit obscure, but i would also suggest some dim sum type food. but those details are a topic for another post.

  6. what's wrong with cooking the eggs in olive oil for a breakfast fat? Are nuts really necessary for breakfast?
